An Indian NGO coalition, Association for Advocacy & Community Empowerment (ACE), paid a courtesy visit to Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall this morning, 11am (May 18), for an exchange session. The delegation was received by KLSCAH President Mr. Ngan Teng Ye and Treasurer Mr. Tan Soon Lim.
Representing ACE were Deputy Chairman Mr. S.P. Nathan, Executive Director Mr. Gunasegaran Kandaswamy, and Mr. Jeyakumar Vaithilingam, Member. ACE is a coalition comprising 16 Indian-based organisations dedicated to advancing the welfare and interests of the Malaysian Indian community.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on current political, economic, educational, and cultural developments in the country, while also sharing their respective organisational experiences and community initiatives. ACE’s visit also provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of KLSCAH’s history, organisational structure, and its longstanding role in promoting civil society engagement as well as cultural and educational development.
Both parties agreed on the importance of strengthening ties and communication between organisations from different communities through ongoing engagement and mutual understanding. They also expressed hope for future collaboration in areas such as community outreach, cultural exchange, and public interest initiatives, to promote a more inclusive and diverse Malaysian society.
