Vindicate Tiananmen Square Democratic Movements

The year 2010 marks the 21th anniversary of the Tiananmen Democratic Movement.

On 3 and 4 June 1989,China government conducted widespread arrests

of protesters and their supporters,cracked down the protests around China,

banned the foreign press from the country and strictly controlled

coverage of the events in the press.

Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section (KLSCAH Youth)

urge China Government to vindicate Tiananmen Square Democratic Movements

andJune 3rd/4th brutal crackdown.

The government should not use economic interest to justify the brutal

crackdown on one hand,and silent those who demand for accountability

from the government on the other hand.China government also should not

designate the Pro-democracy Movement as a riot and usedtanks and guns to

suppress the peaceful protest on 4 June 1989.

Moreover, China government should not cover up the number of deaths

and the name list.

“The students and the people have the fundamental rights to assembly,

protest against corruption, demand for freedom of the press and voice their concerns.

China government should not arrest them or crackdown any people assembly. ”,

said Ng Chong Soon, president of KLSCAH Youth.

KLSCAH Youth calls upon international community has not forgotten the

Tiananmen Democratic Movement and continue to support the call

to demand the accountability.

KLSCAH Youth requests People’s Republic of China authorities to:

1.      investigate the Tiananmen brutal crackdown and publish the report;

2.      punish the perpetrators of the brutal crackdown;

3.      provide remedy to the victims of the brutal crackdown and their families;

4.      stop harassing the dissidents who speak out the truth; and

5.      release all the prisoners of conscience who are jailed in relation to

the Pro-democracy Movement.
