The recent cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on June 25 turned out to be a “cabinet expansion”, with the addition of three Ministers and three Deputy Ministers to the 34-member cabinet, bringing the Malaysian Cabinet to its largest ever figure of 37.
Does size really matter? Are Malaysians more concerned about the performance and effectiveness of Ministers than the number of Ministers in the cabinet?
Research for Social Advancement (REFSA), together with Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) Social-Economic Committee, in partnership with Malaysiakini, will co-organize a forum titled “Cabinet reshuffle: Will the new Ministers be effective?”.
Language: English
Panelists:
1. YB Liew Chin Tong, MP for Kluang
2. Prof. Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai, Gerakan National Vice-President
3. Dr. Wong Chin Huat, Fellow in Penang Institute
The forum is free and open to all. Join the discussion as our three panelists explore the issue of size vs performance and delve deeper into how this cabinet will impact ordinary Malaysians.
