On this auspicious Raya season I, on behalf of The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), wish to extend my heartiest greetings to all Muslims folks and friends in Malaysia. May all of you have a blessed and blissful Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
While we celebrate this joyous Hari Raya Aidilfitri, it is important to bear in mind the values and righteous spirit of Islam, such as tolerance, equality, forgiveness and compassion. These values not only add significance to the festivities, but also showcase the diverse characteristics of our nation, presenting a beautiful picture of our country’s multicultural society, fostering unity and harmony.
Recent events, particularly the “Allah” socks controversy, cleverly magnified by certain political figures, have caused grave concern among the public resulting in divisions and tensions among the various ethnicities in the country and pushing the Rakyat to the brink of discord and confrontation.
As Hari Raya approaches, it aptly presents an opportunity for our society to bridge differences, mend racial divides and strengthen unity among the Malaysian. Looking ahead, KLSCAH earnestly hopes that our leaders will uphold the doctrine of Zhong Yong in governance and that people of all ethnicities can come together in this joyous time and work hand in hand to rebuild a nation that is free, democratic, just and righteous.
Once again, I wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf, Zahir dan Batin.
