KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — The free bus rides organised by a group of non-governmental organisations (NGO) for the 15th general election (GE15) has received overwhelming response and the organisers have increased the bus frequencies for five routes.
The routes that are hottest in demand are Penang, Ipoh-Taiping, and Kota Baru, said Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Association Hall (KLSCAH) Civil Rights Committee chairman Liau Kok Fah, whose NGO has partnered with Sayangi Kinrara and SKLHA Youth to organise the service.
“One bus will be provided each of the eight two-way routes previously and starting from now, there will be one additional bus on Alor Setar and Tangkak-Yong Peng-JB-Pontian, two buses on Ipoh-Taiping, Kota Baru and Penang route,” he said.
The service offers a return bus ride back to Dewan Masyarakat BK2 in Puchong on polling day (November 19). The bus will depart at 6pm.
Successful applicants will be notified via WhatsApp from now until November 16.
The group of NGOs assured that they would not ask applicants about their political preferences or not push applicants to vote for specific political parties.
Those interested will have until November 16 to register through this Google Form at https://bit.ly/3sQecj7.
