BOOK LAUNCH
Book Title: ‘Sensitive Truths in Malaysia’ by AB Sulaiman
Theme of book: The author states that the Malay mind thinks in the simplest possible way in a simplest possible world. This norm is not at all suitable for the highly complex post-modern world. The Malay ethnic group don’t seem to be aware of this grave shortcoming, causing consternation to the country.
Officiated by: Dato Anwar Fazal
THE FORUM
Title: Nationalism And The Quest For Belonging
Theme: In this country the spirit of nationalism appears to apply only to the Malay ethnic group. Don’t the non-Malays also have the same spirit? Or has this spirit been suppressed? The time is long overdue for recognizing the existence of Malaysian nationalism.
The panel of speakers:
1)Dato Dominic Puthucheary
2)Dr. Helen Ting
Moderator: Dato Azzat Kamaluddin
