Today(10 March), The Kuala Lumpur And Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) gather at  Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to urge the Myanmar’s junta to cease their oppression of non-violent civil movements.

“Life is precious, but freedom is priceless.” The bravery of a 20-year-old Burmese woman captures the essence of the aforementioned quote. Sadly, this heartbreakingly came at the cost of her life. It came with the cost of a young person; a life beginning to blossom at the bloom of youth.

Soldiers must defend their nation; their duty lies in protecting the safety and lives of the people. The demonstrators in Myanmar are not enemies of the state, but patriotic citizens who love their country. The military has no reason to commit such brutal atrocities to its people.

As said in Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person”.

The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH)  hereby appeals to the Myanmar military to resolve the existing political crisis peacefully. Such tragedies must not happen again.
