12 Angry Men – Film synopsis:
An 18-year-old boy from a city slum, is on trial for allegedly stabbing his father to death. Final closing arguments are presented, and the judge then instructs the jury to decide whether the boy is guilty of murder. The judge further informs them that a guilty verdict will be accompanied by a mandatory death sentence.
The twelve jurors retire to the jury room, having been admonished that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Eleven of the jurors vote for conviction, each for reasons of his own. The sole holdout is Juror 8. Heated debate begins, reviewing acts of personal prejudice, selfishness, patriarchy, class, racism….. Can 1 convince 11?
