悼念吉隆坡沦陷日公祭（11.1.1942）

1941年12月8日，日军入侵马来亚半岛，敲响马来亚战争的号角。吉隆坡沦陷日是指1942年1月11日，日本军队占领了马来亚半岛的首都吉隆坡。这一事件发生在第二次世界大战期间，是太平洋战争中的一部分。在此日，日军成功进攻吉隆坡，导致英联邦和盟军军队撤退，也开启了日军的铁蹄统治岁月。

在沦陷期间，吉隆坡和周边地区经历了一段时期的日本军事占领，这段日据时期对当地居民和社会造成了深远的影响，历经大肃清运动，遇难者众多，死伤无数。因此本堂马来西亚二战历史协会特举办吉隆坡沦陷日公祭，以此缅怀遇难者，表达对那段艰难时光的敬意，以及对和平的期盼。

Commemorate The Fall Of Kuala Lumpur (11.1.1942)

On December 8, 1941, Japanese forces invaded the Malay Peninsula, marking the onset of the Malayan Campaign. The fall of Kuala Lumpur to the Japanese occurred on January 11, 1942. This event took place during World War II as part of the Pacific War. On that day, Japanese forces successfully attacked Kuala Lumpur, leading to the retreat of Commonwealth and Allied forces and inaugurating a period of Japanese occupation.

During the occupation, Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas experienced a period of Japanese military control. This period, known as the Japanese occupation, had profound effects on the local population and society, with numerous casualties and widespread suffering due to actions such as the Great Purge.

Hence, the Malaysian WWII History Association organizes the Kuala Lumpur Remembrance Sunday to commemorate the victims, express respect for the challenging times, and convey hope for peace.
