{"id":5358,"date":"2012-08-27T11:44:31","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T03:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/klscah.org.my\/?p=5358"},"modified":"2020-11-26T18:24:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T10:24:43","slug":"merdeka-march-for-jalan-sultan-on-national-day-eve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klscah.org.my\/en\/2012\/08\/5358.html","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Merdeka March for Jalan Sultan&#8217; on National Day Eve"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Preservation Of Jalan Sultan and Jalan Bukit Bintang Committee (PJSBBC)<\/span> together with <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Youth Section of KLSCAH<\/span> will hold a rally on the eve of National Day in a move to continue pressuring the government to preserve the street from the effects of construction works for the MRT project.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>PJSBBC chairperson Stanley Yong announced that the rally, called \u2018Merdeka March for Jalan Sultan\u2019, will be held at 8.30pm on 30 August 2012 (Thursday) at Jalan Sultan.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Date: 30th August 2012 (Thursday)<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Time: 8.30pm<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Venue: In front of Gospel Hall KL, Jalan Hang Jebat<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>During the event, Yong said, the participants would gather at Gospel Hall before moving to Standium Merdeka for the symbolic linking of hands from the stadium all the way down to the Yan Keng Benevolent Dramatic Association building. Later, the participants will march together towards the Klang bus station, next to the Pasar Seni LRT station, which has been demolished to pave the way for the construction of an underground MRT station.<\/p>\n<p>Yong urged all the members of the public and activists who are concerned about Jalan Sultan to join the \u201ccarnival\u201d and to celebrate National Day in a different way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be a very different scene next year and so if we need to admire the good looks of Jalan Sultan, probably we have to do it now. Hopefully, on the eve of Merdeka Day, we will have a very peaceful night at Jalan Sultan, and we will make use of the peace to gather together, to sing some songs, even dance.
